CHICAGO -- Even with three errors, the Houston Astros managed to beat the Chicago White Sox 11-7 Sunday. Matt Dominguez hit a two-run homer and a tiebreaking RBI double, and the Astros tied their season high with 17 hits as they prevented a three-game sweep. Second baseman Jose Altuve made a pair of errors and first baseman Jon Singleton had one, with each infielder allowing a grounder through his legs. "Its part of the game," manager Bo Porter said. "Obviously, Altuve is a guy whos pretty sure-handed, but it happens. But its good to see the rest of the team pick those guys up." Altuve hit a two-run homer for the Astros (41-5Spokojny, who find themselves 1 1-2 games ahead of last-place Texas in the AL West. "We battled through that game," said Dominguez, had three hits and four RBIs. "It was nice to go out there and get a win like that." Chicago fell behind 4-0 early and tied the score 7-all in the sixth on Alexei Ramirezs RBI double, Jose Abreus run-scoring single and a run-scoring two-out grounder by Dayan Viciedo that went Altuves legs for Houstons second error of the inning. Daniel Webb (5-3) allowed RBI doubles in the seventh to Dominguez and L.J. Hoes, and Marwin Gonzalez followed with a two-run single. Tony Sipp (2-1) pitched 1-1 scoreless innings as Houston stopped a three-game skid. Josh Fields and Chad Qualls got three straight outs each. Houstons Jarred Cosart allowed four runs, seven hits and four walks in five innings. John Danks lasted a season-low 4 1-3 innings, giving up a season-high 12 hits and seven runs. On May 18, he allowed eight runs -- seven earned -- and 10 hits over 4 2-3 innings in an 8-2 loss to the Astros. "Dug us a hole. These guys fought hard to get out of it," Danks said. "For whatever reason, Houston has beat me up this year, so fortunately, were done with that." Hoes filled in for Astros OF George Springer, who was held out because of soreness in his right knee and quadriceps. Springer will continue to receive treatment, and he expects be in the lineup for the opener of a three-game set against the Athletics in Oakland on Tuesday night. "Its fine," Stringer said. "Its just a little something. I just have to make sure Im all right, and well go from there. I can play through it." NOTES: Singleton was inserted in the lineup after 1B Jesus Guzman reported back discomfort in batting practice. ... Abreu extended his hitting streak to 11 games. He had at least one hit in 29 of his last 30 games. ... Manager Robin Ventura was noncommittal about the closer role, which Jake Petricka and Zach Putnam shared in recent weeks. Matt Lindstrom (left ankle surgery) could return next month, while Thompson also was a potential candidate. Prior to the game, Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte, where he converted all six of his save chances. RHP Felipe Paulino was transferred to the 60-day DL. ... Ventura had a rooting interest in the upcoming Hall of Fame induction of Frank Thomas, his former teammate. "He was a dominant player in his era, and that will stand the test of time as far as his place with the White Sox," Ventura said. ... White Sox LHP Chris Sale is to make his first post-All-Star game start versus the Kansas City Royals on Monday night. Darrell Henderson Jersey . - Diego Fagundez scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season in the 76th minute to lift the Revolution to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night that kept New Englands playoff hopes alive. Robert Woods Womens Jersey . During halftime, Love told The Associated Press he would receive treatment Saturday night and hoped to play Monday night against Houston. "I knew that my quad was bothering me pretty bad so I went out there and tried to move around a little bit and it just wasnt quite right," Love said. http://www.ramsrookiestore.com/Rams-Clay-Matthews-Jersey/ . Argentina, who have yet to beat New Zealand in 17 meetings, rocked the All Blacks with an early converted try to backrower Juan Manuel Leguizamon and led 7-0 after five minutes. But Smiths double in the 23rd and 26th minutes - when Argentina was reduced to 14 men by the sin-binning of hooker Eusebio Guinazu - turned the tide of the match and set up New Zealands third straight Championship win. Levante, which had lost five straight including a Copa del Rey game last weekend, fell behind at its Ciutat de Valencia stadium when Ionut Sapanura opened the scoring for Elche in the 26th minute. CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Joey Votto emerged from his deep slump when the Reds really needed him. Votto singled and hit a two-run homer on Friday night, leading Cincinnati to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers that kept its momentum going in the NL Central race. The 2010 NL MVP has been having a tough time, watching his batting average fall to .300 after he led the league at .361 on May 24. The Reds got a run in the fourth when Votto ended his 0-for-13 slump with a single off Stephen Fife, Jay Bruce singled and Ryan Ludwick grounded into a double play. Votto hit a two-run homer -- his 22nd -- off J.P. Howell (2-1) in the fifth inning for a 3-2 lead. "This is one game," Votto said. "Youre only as good as your last at-bat." His last at-bat on Friday? The decisive homer. "Joey coming through was a big thing for us," said Mike Leake, who went 7 2-3 innings. "When youre in a slump, its tough -- not that his was a big one. Im glad for him." Manager Dusty Baker asked Votto if he wanted a day off Friday to regroup. Votto decided to play and broke out. "It started with the base hit up the middle," Baker said. "You guys know the stats. I knew he was 0-for-something. He came through at the right time. You cant hold a good man down for long." While the Reds were relieved, the Dodgers got another concern for their pitching staff. The NL West leaders lost Chris Capuano to a mild groin strain in the second inning, when he grimaced on a pitch to Zack Cozart. Already this week, the Dodgers had to push Hyun-Jin Ryu back from a scheduled start because of a sore back. "It is something Ive had before but Ive been able to keep it at bay," Capuano said. "I just felt it grab on a pitch to Cozart. I didnt hear it pop or anything. I hope its a mild strain. I have to wait to see how it feels tomorrow. Ive felt great the last couple of games." Leake (12-6) emerged from his recent slump, helping the Reds get their fourth win in their last five games. He allowed five hits, including Hanley Ramirezs two-run homer. Aroldis Chapman, pitching for the fourth day in a row, fanned three in the ninth for his 35th save in 40 chances. It was only the eighthh time in his career that the hard-throwing lefty went four days in a row.dddddddddddd "We know down the stretch were going to play a lot of close games," Baker said. "We know down the stretch our closer is going to have to go multiple games." The third-place Reds kept their momentum going from a successful series against the St. Louis Cardinals that tightened the NL Central race. The Pirates, Cardinals and Reds are all in good position to reach the playoffs -- one as the division champ, the other two as wild cards. Los Angeles has taken control of the West by going 36-10 since the All-Star break. The Dodgers want to get the NLs top rotation fully healthy for the playoffs. Capuano has never lost at Great American Ball Park, going 3-0 in eight games. The groin strain prevented him from trying to add to the total. The left-hander has been on the disabled list twice this season. He was sidelined from April 17 to May 6 with a strained left calf and from May 30 to June 19 with a strained left shoulder. Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips was in the lineup a day after he left a game because of a sore left thigh. He singled in the eighth off Paco Rodriguez and was replaced by Billy Hamilton, who stole second, leaving him 3 for 3 in attempts since his promotion. Rodriguez walked the bases loaded, but Brian Wilson got Ryan Ludwick to line into a double play as he escaped the threat. Right fielder Yasiel Puig was back for the Dodgers after a sore right knee limited him to pinch-hitting status the last two games. He had an infield single. NOTES: C Devin Mesoraco was back in the Reds starting lineup. He has been limited lately by a sore left hamstring. ... Dodgers RHP Zack Greinke (14-3) tries to win his seventh straight start on Saturday. The Reds go with Mat Latos (14-5), who is coming off a complete-game, 7-2 win over St. Louis. ... The Reds will unveil a bronze statue outside Great American Ball Park honouring Hall of Fame second baseman Joe Morgan before Saturdays game.
