EDMONTON - Things arent getting any easier for the Edmonton Oilers. Three days after getting routed 8-1 on home ice by the Calgary Flames, the Oilers welcome one of the top teams in the Western Conference tonight, the San Jose Sharks. You can see all the action on TSN beginning at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt. Jeff Petry had the lone Edmonton goal and Viktor Fasth yielded five goals on 16 shots before getting lifted just over seven minutes into the second period against Calgary. Ben Scrivens allowed three goals on 15 shots in relief for the Oilers, who have dropped their past two after opening a six-game homestand with last Tuesdays win over Nashville. "I apologize to the fans who had to watch that," Edmonton head coach Dallas Eakins said. "It was painful on the bench and painful for our great fans." Forward Nail Yakupov missed his third straight game due to injury and is doubtful to return tonight. Scrivens will start again tonight for the Oilers. Fasth suffered a neck injury in practice on Monday when he collided with teammate Anton Lander. He had to be helped off the ice and Edmonton recalled goaltender Laurent Brossoit from the American Hockey League on an emergency basis. Fasth did not skate with the team on Tuesday. Scrivens was stellar the last time he faced the Sharks on Jan. 29, setting an NHL record for the most saves in a regular-season shutout as he turned aside 59 shots in a 3-0 win. The victory by the Oilers snapped a six-game slide to the Sharks and four-game skid at home in this series. Though San Jose lost its second game in a row on Monday night, both losses came in a shootout and the point gained last night versus the Calgary Flames was enough to lock up the Sharks 10th straight playoff appearance. With 101 points, the Sharks are two ahead of the idle Anaheim Ducks for the top spot in the Pacific Division, but San Jose has played two more games. San Jose got a goal from James Sheppard in last nights 2-1 setback to the Calgary Flames, while backup goaltender Alex Stalock made 26 saves through overtime as the Sharks fell to 8-1-3 in their last 12 games. "It was probably an inevitability," said Sharks coach Todd McLellan of clinching a playoff spot. "There is satisfaction in clinching. Thats one of the goals that we set out to do and theyve accomplished that. It wouldve been nice to get the two points, obviously were in a heck of a race for other things, so thats a little bit disappointing, but we got to move on." San Jose did see forward Logan Couture exit early due to a lower-body injury suffered after blocking a shot. McLellan said that Couture is okay, but it was unknown if he will be able to play tonight. Antti Niemi is likely to return to net tonight for San Jose and is 7-1-1 lifetime versus the Oilers with a 2.27 goals against average. Scott Niedermayer Jersey .C. -- Jackson Whistle made 26 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Kelowna Rockets blanked the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-0 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action. Corey Perry Jersey . His stated reason for abruptly resigning as head coach of Canadas Olympic womens hockey team was he felt there were doubts about his ability to coach the team to Olympic gold in February. http://www.authenticduckspro.com/Paul-kariya-ducks-jersey/ . The underachieving franchise finished 17th in the 19-team league with a 6-17-11 record this season. "Our soccer team is absolutely in complete disarray," said Leiweke, drawing laughs during an Empire Club luncheon speech about the future of MLSE teams and plans to improve them. Jean-Sebastien Giguere Jersey . -- On any given day here at his companys Silicon Valley headquarters, Vivek Ranadive is ready to compete against any employee who wants to challenge him to any contest. Custom Anaheim Ducks Jerseys . - Whether its because of her improved play or the reason for it, Michelle Wie appears as comfortable on and off the golf course as at any time in her career. The Indiana Pacers already have their backs against the wall when they face a must-win Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. After an alarming 101-93 loss to the eighth-seeded Hawks on Saturday, the top- ranked Pacers could fall down 2-0 with a setback on Tuesday. That would spell serious trouble considering the Hawks have won 14 of the last 16 in Atlanta. "Were upset, hungry, hurt - ready to go out there and compete," said Indianas Roy Hibbert. The Pacers shouldve been all of those things on Saturday. Indiana went 10-13 to finish the season and carried that bad play over to the postseason. One of those losses was a home setback to the Hawks on April 6, and while they pose some matchup problems for the Pacers, Atlanta was brilliant on Saturday. Indianapolis native Jeff Teague enjoyed his playoff homecoming, scoring 28 points with five assists to lead the Hawks to victory in Game 1 of this Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Teague had 14 of his game-high 28 points in the third quarter, which Atlanta dominated from start to finish to pull away after the teams played to a draw in the first half. The Hawks outscored Indiana 30-16 in the period. "I just wanted to be aggressive. We know theyre a good defensive team with a lot of length. We just wanted to attack, stay aggressive and hit the open guy," said Teague. "Weve got a lot of shot-makers. We know they are a long team who likes to clog the paint. But we want to stretch the floor against them.&quuot; Paul Millsap scored 25 points for the eighth-seeded Hawks, who are in the postseason for the seventh straight season.dddddddddddd DeMarre Carroll and Kyle Korver donated 12 points apiece. Paul George had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana, while Lance Stephenson scored 19 points and George Hill added 12. "It isnt the NCAA [tournament]. One game doesnt mean were out of the playoffs. We have to look at film and figure out how we can get four games," said Hill. It was 50-50 at the half, but the Hawks dominated the final 24 minutes. Millsaps three-point play set the tone for the Atlanta-dominated third period. Carroll followed with a 3-ball and Teague hit a short jumper for a 58-50 lead. The Pacers got back within two then Teague took over, scoring nine straight points following two Millsap free throws to give Atlanta its largest lead at 71-58. Another Millsap three-point play capped a 14-0 flurry, and Hibbert was whistled for a moving screen on the other end to a chorus of boos from the home fans. The fourth quarter was more of the same for the Hawks, who hit timely baskets and made enough stops to keep Indiana at arms length. The margin reached 20 points on multiple occasions before late 3-pointers from the Pacers brought the final tally into single digits. The Hawks were the fourth No. 8 Seed to win Game 1 by at least eight points. Two of the three others (Knicks in 1999, Warriors in 2007) went on to win the series. Game 3 will be Thursday night in Atlanta. ' ' '
